RM has opened up about the difficult period BTS faced before coming back together after their military-service break.
During a recent Weverse livestream, the BTS leader said the members were in a bad mental state around the time Jin completed his service in June 2024. He recalled the group gathering for dinner at Jimin’s home, where the conversation became emotional, and the members spoke honestly about what they had been carrying during their time apart.
RM said that night left him feeling a stronger sense of responsibility to help keep the team together. His comments offered a rare look at the pressure surrounding the group’s transition from individual military commitments back into full-group activity.
BTS had paused group work while RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V and Jung Kook completed South Korea’s mandatory military service. Their reunion has marked a major moment for fans, who waited through the hiatus while the members focused on solo projects and service obligations.
